This month’s tip comes from international speaker Phil Hesketh, and was shared by Andy Bounds in his Tuesday Tips.
We’re often full of good resolutions at the start of a New Year but how long do they last?
Phil says it’s too easy to overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in a year.
To achieve more in 2016, he recommends the ‘TNT’ (tiny noticeable things) approach.
TNTs are those little ‘nudges’ that can improve lifestyles, make people more productive and make things happen (i.e. Behavioural Economics in action).
What TNTs could you use to improve your productivity and focus?
For example:
- Turn your phone or laptop’s ‘beep’ off, so you aren’t contantly distracted by Facebook or emails.
- Set an alarm to prompt you to stop work on time.
- Clear your desk or office so that you feel less cluttered.
Try it yourself - and brainstorm with your colleagues to identify the TNTs that will improve your wellbeing, your effectiveness and your impact!
(and for more examples of TNT in practice from Phil, you can find those here).
