How to say no, nicely

TIP120 How to say no, nicely

1-hour or 2-hour online team discussion

When?

On request, subject to availability from Nov '24

Why?

All Insight teams receive requests from stakeholders, far more than they can ever accept. Some are great suggestions for business issues to investigate, others don't make our priority list and we have say no - without damaging our relationships with other departments.

What?

In this online discussion:

  • we provide advise on when it might be the right time to turn down a request
  • we discuss strategies for saying no
  • we give hints and tips for how to do it nicely!

The team sessions will make reference to the Insight leader's playbook and the wider implications of saying no to stakeholders.

After the initial discussion, the IMA can provide further 1-hour support sessions for Insight leaders who would like guidance as they implement new ways of working in their Insight teams.

These team discussions are led by Parveen Bdesha

They are designed for a group of up to 15 corporate Insight professionals who work in the same organisation
